CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF NIKA'S TINY HOUSE
Ten years of driftwood and a world that found her
Since 2015, Nika Stegel has been creating exceptional artworks under the name Nika’s tiny house — sculptures and pieces made entirely from wood found washed ashore by the sea. Her atelier in Piran has become one of the town’s most beloved attractions, drawing nearly 50,000 visitors a year and earning features on national television in Germany, France and Italy.
Nika’s Postcard is built on three core ideas: embrace creativity, keep exploring your surroundings, and share with the people you love most. Turn a simple walk through Piran into one of the most unique, personalized postcards you’ll ever send.
This project reflects the three key philosophies behind my work: embrace creativity, keep exploring your surroundings, and share with the people you love most.

THREE STOPS IN PIRAN
Follow the stamps through the city
Each station sits at one of Piran’s most visited landmarks, so collecting all three stamps fits naturally into a morning or afternoon stroll through town.
Church of St. George
Piran's landmark hilltop church, with views across the rooftops and out to sea.

THE EXPERIENCE
Three stops, one original postcard
Visit three locations across Piran, collect a stamp at each one, and your card gradually reveals Nika’s original illustration of the city — split across three beautifully crafted wooden stamps.
Pick up your card
Free 15×10 cm cards are available at the Piran Tourist Information Centre (TIC), atelier Nika's tiny house and at each stamp station. No booking or hidden fees, just grab one and go.
Stamp your way through Piran
At each station, place your card in the wooden jig frame and press the stamp. The order doesn't matter - all three pieces are designed to work in any sequence.
Complete the illustration
Three stamps, one picture. When all three are pressed, Nika's full illustration of Piran comes to life on your card.
Keep it or send it
Frame it. Display it. Or write someone's name on the back and drop it in a postbox. A handmade postcard from Piran, sent to someone who'd love to receive it.
THE CRAFT
Made properly, from the start
Original illustration by Nika
Nika drew this illustration specifically for this project. A view of Piran, divided across three stamps, each with its own character.
Special stamps
The stamps took time to perfect. Numerous tests ensured the details remain clear even after heavy use.
Any order, any time
All stations are accessible every day. Opening hours vary, but they are generally open throughout the day. The stations can be visited in any order, you can start and finish wherever you like.
Frame it or post it
At 15 × 10 cm, the finished card fits perfectly in a standard photo frame, and just as easily into a standard postbox. The ultimate goal is for every postcard to be sent to someone, but we understand if you’d rather keep it for yourself.

MORE THAN A SOUVENIR
Make it. Then send it.
A postcard is one of the oldest ways to say “I thought of you.” Nika’s Postcard brings that tradition back — with a twist. Instead of buying something off a rack, you walk through Piran, stamp each piece of the illustration yourself, and end up with something genuinely handmade.
Then you address it, write a few words, and drop it in a postbox. Someone on the other side of the world — a friend, a parent, a partner — receives a little piece of Piran, made by your own hand.
Add a stamp and send it away.
Your finished card is 15×10 cm — the size of a classic postcard. It fits any standard frame, and it fits any postbox. We want you to send it. That's the whole point.
Free · No booking · Open to everyone
Someone out there is waiting for a postcard from you
Pick up a card, walk the trail, stamp your illustration — then write a name on the back. That’s it. Nika’s art does the rest.
Cards available at each stamp station and at TIC Piran.
